It is now a 50yr old normal lawn with nice grass! Basic question: Do you think it would be OK If I box it in with 2x6 and pour 6" with pressure cracks every 5' with a 1" slope for rain water to run totally away from the house. Only thing ever to be parked on it is my 2500 truck (maybe with a load of wood in back once in a while). 7,000lb + wood should be under 10k. Don't want a lot of overkill. Just don't want it to look bad in a few years. Near Toronto. Thank youRe: WINDOWS 10? ANYONE USE IT AND LIKE IT?Windows 10 update issue is the only problem I have seen. Not serious but an ankle biter. Always there. I can understand those with bandwidth and data caps being angry. I have neither. Having said that, I like windows 10. Going back to windows 7 or 8 is like unplugging abs brakes. You will (should) still have the good old fashion brakes but will never react as fast as a computer can (with abs). It will just appear to for some. IMHO ......I have upgraded 6 machines so far since it was released.Re: Windows 10I upgraded to Win-10 and just did a free paragon backup to external usb. Upgraded two other machines today. Will also back them up in the morning.Re: Windows 10Just installed win 10. Played / looked around for hours and have zero issues with it. I am happy. Sofar 4 more pc's to go. I am not concerned about the OS taking control of all updates as log as they don't crash. I don't know a person that understands the internal changes of hundreds of patches a year to an OS. I (like 99%) just throw them in and hope for the best. OR hand-dracally click one at a time and reboot to test yourself (times hundreds of patches times 5 pc's + 2 android phones + 2 tablets). Ain't happening. I trust the OS maintenance crews. Happy camper so far.Re: Very Expensive Preventative Maintenance falconbrother wrote: Heck, I'd cut a hole in the floor and weld it back before I'd drop that tank. I have had 3 fuel pumps so this 4th one was just that.... Measured & cut a 12x12" access. Changed the pump in 15 min. Built two supports and placed (just sit) the 12x12 piece in place. Supports my weight easily and if I needed more support I would lay a board down over it. I do not recommend welding near the tank.Re: CPU Speed vs Number of Cores? RambleOnNW wrote: 1 Gig hard drive. I think you must have gotten that last one made in 1984. ;) What OS fits there? I know it was likely a 1 TB drive. Just having fun here.Re: Yahoo mail . . . . unbelieveable!!!Yahoo mail here in Ontario Canada has been flakey in the past 6 months. Hangs up, chokes off and at times is extremely slow. If I were in business it would not be with Yahoo. I would pay for a product or service...but I am just a retired old man having fun. But, that being said it is not so slow that I will invest the time to switch. I have way too many yahoo ID's to map them all out. When I get bored I sign on as a political figure and poke fun at other political figureheads and their broken promises. Can't go into detail on this site! lol Hey, works for me.Re: CPU Speed vs Number of Cores? There Still appears to be a distinct lack of application definition needs to justify more than 2 cores. Browsing the net, word and pdf's are 'peanuts' in the world of computing. I dare say that you would not be able to find a new machine that would not be able to do what you have described. All operating systems on all platforms have more than sufficient capacity to meet your goals. just my .02Re: Discovery after Transmission problemsSometimes good things do happen to good people that appreciate it.Re: Discovery after Transmission problemsThe single best "Transmission problems" thread I have ever read!
