The front roof termination bar was not installed when I got it. It’s bent, the screw holes are buggered, and the paints messed up, and covered in previous sealant and paint and has old nasty stuck like glue butyl tape up under it, it’s gonna take a lot of work to get this one ready before I start my roof repair, I’d rather just buy new bars. Can anyone point me in the right direct to find a similar style of termination bar? Having a hard time finding anything close and the ones that are they only sell in bulk (way more than I need). Pic for attention Wait, why can’t I post pictures?!Re: temporary rubber roof repair ideas? 95 Fleetwood Elkhorn 11XWorks been slow, our rent went up, wife is a full time student, and she’s been begging me to get it useable so we can go on little get a ways to the beach or to the lake. I know there’s only one way to do it right, but I can’t afford all the stuff to do it the way I would want. That being said, i’m not really so concerned with water tight, because I’m not planning on camping in the rain persay. I mainly just want my roof panel to be attached and somewhat sealed. For what it’s worth, my friend built his own truck camper, 6 years ago, he did OSB, Thompson water seal, and roll on bed linered the entire thing, and his brother has been literally living in that camper for the past two years, no leaks. He said the a/c vent dripped so he pulled it up, lined the hole with butyl tape put it back in and went over it with lap sealent and no leaks. I’m thinking I’m going to just reattach the panel and seal it with the duct sealant and save the effort and money so I can start gathering supplies to get it all handled after summer.temporary rubber roof repair ideas? 95 Fleetwood Elkhorn 11XThe previous owner of my camper did a DIY roof repair on the front of the sleeper and over the bathroom. Unfortunately, he didn’t do a good job. On my way home with it the front roof board blew up in the air from the wind and was stuck vertical. I decided to check the bathroom repair and also not a complete job. That being said, the camper has been covered so the previous damage has been stopped and no new damage has occurred. The front roof board is an 8’ x 2’ piece of 1/4” OSB with thin luan board on top and the rubber roof, which is severely hammered and flaking off. I have previously replaced an EPDM roof on my old trailer, and it came out decent. I learned a lot from that experience. After pricing out what i’m going to need to replace the roof on my camper, I have decided to save that for the future. In the mean time, however, I would really like to make repairs to the damaged areas on my roof to get through the next year or so. What i’m thinking is, i’m going to go over with a putty knife and peel off the old rubber roof. Take note of any damaged OSB/ply, kilz latex primer for the whole roof, butyl tape all seams and roof holes. Replace front roof sheet and rear roof sheet, Thompson water seal both sheets, kilz primer, and self leveling lap sealant for vents and joints. I happen to have kilz primer in the garage, some 1/4” ply sheets and luan at work, and I have two tubes of lap sealant. Though, I am considering using some a/c duct sealant instead. I used it on my motor home and went 3 years of heavy use leak free before I sold it, and I have two gallons of it on the shelf, more than enough to seal the camper. Now, for a top coat, I’m considering a white roll on bedliner. Other than that, I’m not sure what other readily and cheap alternatives there are that will keep me leak free for the next year. Would love some recommendations from those of you who had some good results!Dometic RM2510, flue/burner stack insulation?I opened the sheet metal burner stack up to get at my AC/DC heating elements and found a bunch of straw like debri stuck in the insulation. I pulled a lot of it out, but now looking at if I should just pull it all out and replace it or if it’s good enough to leave it as is and run it. I’m leaning towards the former. Looking for some other opinions, but if I decide to replace it, what should I go with as a replacement? Also, I have a few leads disconnected, I was hoping to see a few pics of the correct wiring. Thanks guys!Re: I keep popping the GFI plug when I plug into shore powerThanks for all the responses guys, this forum is freakin rad!Re: I keep popping the GFI plug when I plug into shore powerThanks for all the great informative responses you guys! I went out and unplugged the fridge from the access panel, reset main breaker in the camper and shut it off, still pops the GFI instantly. I saw the response that if it's popping with the main camper breaker off that it's got to be the cord, so I retried with my other extension cord and same result. So am I to understand the RV cord is looking to be the culprit? I read online that it could also be the charger on the converter. I already have the link saved for the upgrade kit for my converter, not scared, just trying to get to the lake in a few weeks and still need to buy my tiedowns so don't wanna spend money I don't need to lolRe: I keep popping the GFI plug when I plug into shore power Mandalay Parr wrote: You have a ground fault. Nothing to do with the 12 volt system. Call me. I can help. Hey Jerry, that's awesome of you to offer to talk to me and help. Are you sure it's not too late? 11:30 here where I am lol just don't want to be a bother when you're offering help :) My extension cord ran a grinder yesterday and a sawzall the day before, I did test the cord though and ran my air compressor off it and had no problems at all, worked great. I will unplug the fridge tomorrow and test that. I have an awning that's in the way of the cover for the back of the fridge and it's a real pain so I'll tackle that in the morning when I can actually see lol. Also, would it still be the fridge even though I'm plugging it in with the main breaker off?I keep popping the GFI plug when I plug into shore powerHey guys, I got a 1995 Fleetwood Elkhorn 11X TC, she's been sitting a while and threw a new battery in her today to start checking her out. I had 12 volt everywhere and everything works (for some reach the 12 volt on my fridge didn't). I decided to plug into shore power and check my AC and my fridge that way but it sparked while plugging in and instantly popped my GFI plug in my garage. I personally replaced the plug last year with a good one and I've had my toy hauler plugged in with no issues and on the same medium duty extension cord. I'm running a Magnetek 6332 Converter/Power center combo. My good extension cord won't reach any other plugs so I haven't tried yet. I started by shutting off the main breaker in the camper and trying again, same thing, pops the GFI instantly when I plug it in even with the main breaker off. Next step I'm going to pull all the 12 volt fuses and see if it does it again and if not start putting fuses back in 1 by 1 til I find the fuse that trips the GFI again. Any one have any advice or ever experienced this? Thanks!Removing trans on 1993 Ford Class C, looking for resourcesDo a trans swap for a friend of the family, 1993 Ford E350 Tioga, 460 with an E40D trans, she bought a reman and asked me to swap it. I've done dozens of dodge and Chevy over the years but I've never done a Ford, looking for some resources, or a write up with pictures? Can anyone link me to something helpful? Been searching without much luck. Thanks guys!Re: Need to replace converter, thinking about going inverter CA Traveler wrote: If the refer is a common absorption one that uses 300W then it will take about 30A DC, a good sized draw. Most of us use propane. A modern res refer uses less watts. The ATS has inputs from the gen and shore power and the output goes to the CB panel. I was just going to run it while driving. It's wired to receive charge from my tow rig and I was just trying to save on propane useage if I can
