I have read and read about them and its nothing but horror stories from everyone. Rolling Retreats is 900 miles from me so that is a tough option for fixing this at the moment. What did Slade do when he rebuilt it for you? I am going to take my coach to a Lippert service agency here in Minneapolis and would appreciate any insight on what they did to yours that seems to be lasting.Re: DRV Gear Driven SlideWhere is Lippert's service center?Re: DRV Gear Driven SlideDoes anyone know where the Schwintek controller is located in a DRV 5th wheel?Re: DRV Gear Driven SlideAs I look at it closer the lower front aluminum gear rail has a spot where 3 or so of the teeth are really chewed up. Must have an issue with that gear and track. The top track looks in very good shape. I am assuming that motor must be functioning or it would not move. I am going to have to open it up to get a better visual appraisal. The Lippert YouTube videos are very helpful in understanding how it works and how to access it.DRV Gear Driven SlideI recently purchase a 2013 DRV 38TKSB3 which has gear driven slides for the bedroom and vanity. The bed side which includes a washer and dryer really struggles to open and close. When it closes the side of the slide closes to the front of the RV lacks about 1.5 inches from being totally closed. Has anyone dealt with this problem themselves? Wondering how hard it is to access the drive motor and track assembly that the slide rides on. Any advice from someone with the same issue would be appreciated.removing pin box from DRVI have a DRV 5th wheel that I am changing out the pin box to install a Flexair pin box. The top set of bolts in the current pin box are partially covered by the fiberglass shell. This looks like one massive piece that wraps the entire front of the RV. Has anyone had this issue when removing the factory installed pin box?Re: Electric over hydraulic brakesIt's going to be a couple of weeks before I can get back to where the trailer is to deal with this. I appreciate everyone's input and ideas. A couple of things I can comment on now though. Ford confirmed the controllers in the 2017 Super Duty trucks work with all major electric over hydraulic actuators. It was noted that the braking signal was influenced by both speed and brake pedal pressure. This unit has sat for 3 years in storage so I can guess that bleeding the brakes is a excellent idea then trying the brakes both with the truck controller and the breakaway control and see if there is any difference. Checking the brakes with the wheels off of the ground does not give a realistic test to the brake since you have no load resistance so I will do it on the ground. I will update after I get my hands back on it. ThanksRe: Electric over hydraulic brakesAnyone know where DRV puts the actuator / reservoir on their 5th wheels? I haven't spent any time looking yet but I don't recall seeing it anywere.Re: Electric over hydraulic brakesThe breakaway test is a great idea. The unit has only been pulled 500 miles when new and in storage the remainder of the time. All disc's and rotors are in great shape and move freelyRe: Electric over hydraulic brakesThe truck setting is a good point - I will check that out and hopefully thats the issue. I have bled plenty of brake systems in the past but never a electric over hydraulic one. I will have to study up on that before starting. Thanks
