Hi. We are Bill and Cecelia Hapke. Bill camped in a previous life and are just getting started together. We purchased a 2023 Cougar 30RKD in September 2022 at the Hershey RV show. We did not get to camp much last year and are hoping to use it more this year. We live in southeast PA and will be venturing to Maryland and Virginia this year.

Have been a full time RVer for 14 years.  From Iowa, and of course winter south. We were in Tucson 12 winters, last 2 in Texas.  Not a big fan of Texas.  Thinking about Georgia next year.  Any suggestions?

Just getting started.  I bought a 2006 Tiffin Phaeton in 2021 in great shape, then told the shop to perfect it.  There were some undisclosed by the seller flaws, but I am not going to let that ruin my experience.   I've played with it a little, but no trips so far.  I hope to semi-retire this year and start learning/traveling.    Based just south of Nashville, TN, with family in Memphis, TN, Co, OR, and CA.

devildog1971 here I was in R V net for many years,  I do have a question concerning my  Northern Lite can I plug in the camper cord to 110v electric without having 12 volt batteries installed in (on)  the camper

2019 Northern Lite 10-2 EXCDSE Dry Bath 2007 G M C dually crew cab and 2018 Harley Davidson Limited Low

Being a 2019 I would think so. But you might want to post this question in the Truck Campers group.
If you are not able to post (button is grayed out) you need to join the group first.

  1. on top left of the page hover over the "Groups" drop down
  2. Click on Truck Camper Group (do not click on Forum)
  3. On the right side of the new page click Join Group

After that you can go to the forum by clicking on Forum in step 2 above and post the question.

It depends on the age and type of converter.

Hey @Community Alumni,

I would suggest creating a post on our Campgrounds page! Here campers from all over the country will see your post and be able to give their recommendations! You could also try any of our regional groups as well if you are looking for a specific area!

Hi maurconn,

I use the trip planner at freecampsites.net

Well hello to campers of all kinds.

I'm MissAnne and I have done primitive camping most of my life, some with tents and some without. I am purchasing a Scamp trailer for some extended backcountry camping for a home base. My conundrum is my battery knowledge.

It seems a 29 series is my better choice (unless there is a larger one ). I just dont know how to calculate what I can run and how long. I start reading and I feel like I'm trying to reinvent the wheel. Is the a simple calculation or chart or something to gather this info from or is it just learned knowledge????

Any and all knowledgeable info I will be grateful for.

Thanks and Happy Camping!
