Hello intrepid northbound travelers. This site will be reserved for a list of folks traveling to Alaska this summer. Please continue to post questions, comments, etc. on other sites. If you wish to participate please include your signature, planned or approximate date of departure, and point of departure. If you want to add information about your projected route and a description of your rig that would be helpful. Also if you have a special interest that you plan to pursue on the trip. If you have suggestions about how to make this work better, please send me a PM or put it on the Roll Call site. Thanks, lizzie

This thread is a duplication of the Roll Call 2016 and it has already lead to some confusion. For continuity and to avoid duplication, all posts should be within the Roll Call Alasks 2016 thread including any travel participants as was done for 2014 & 2015.

BTW, we are taking our fifth wheel on this trip because my mother is coming with us. Not enough room in the TC for 3 adults and pets. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope to spend the summer (June - Sept) in N. BC, YT, and Alaska, using the travel trailer as a base camp for multi-day; backpacking, packrafting, canoeing and rafting trips. If others are interested in the same, maybe we can meet up to share shuttles, etc.

Leaving June 15th from Washington state heading north towards Skagway for a ferry ride on June 27th to Haines. Once we do the ferry crossing, we will not be on a tight schedule. From there we will head towards Valdez, Seward, Whittier and then the Kenai. Afterwards we will head north to Denali, Fairbanks, Chicken, Dawson and back to Whitehorse. Then we go on to Jasper and Banff NP, and Golden and Cranbrook, BC to visit with friends before coming into West Glacier, MT for a truck camper rally at the end of August. Whew! Then we come home for a few weeks to recharge and repack before going on a cruise through the Panama Canal. We hope to meet up with several Roll Call people on our journey.

I'm doing things backwards. I'll be leaving Whitehorse on about April 15, and via Calgary, Winnipeg and Ottawa, ending up in Quebec City about July 1st. Then via Vancouver, heading back to Whitehorse over 4-5 weeks.

Ok plans are to leave around the first of June and arrive back the first of August from Idaho. Traveling with 5th wheel 32 ft.

My question is the route after Whitehorse head to Dawson City ,Chicken,Fairbanks,Denai, Anchorage ,Kenai peninsula ,Valdez, on home or reversed order? Hoping to make Dawson Creek around the third or fourth of June and then slow down.

Interest are sightseeing ,hike, beach combing ,not really into fishing

We have done the Canadian Rockies, and Skagway inside passage.
