Best route from Nashville, TN to Rochester, MN?

Hello fellow campers. We are traveling from Nashville,TN for a Mayo Clinic 9/18 appointment in Rochester MN. Can anyone with any experience traveling between these two locations provide any advice on the best route? We don't mind back roads and are not real anxious to travel thru Illinois. TIA

If you are in a hurry, I would agree with Ivylog and take 24, 57, 74, 39, 94/90. No matter what, I would avoid anywhere near Chicago or St Louis. I hate those crime ridden holes.

I24, !64, I 70 , US 61 , Avenue of the Saints, US 63. There is no way practical to avoid Illinois.

My suggestion would be I-24, I-57, and I-64 to St Louis and then north on the Avenue of the Saints.

We recently did the reverse and all the Interstates were in good shape so from Nashville I’d use 24, 57, 74, 39, 94/90.
