Camping in Magdalen Islands

Looking for a new adventure, somewhere we have not been to yet in eastern Canada and The Magdalen Islands have us interested.

Any advice on where to stay and which campground? There are several we have seen on the web. We tow a 34' TT and prefer to set up camp and stay therefore 3 way service.

We are thinking late August early September when the crowds are gone after the Acadian festival. One or two weeks. The cost for the ferry return is $1K so we want to make sure we enjoy our stay and not be rushed.

Enjoy your stay. The sardine part doesn't really appeal to me but I am sure it is beautiful there.

The ferry from Souris PEI is 5 hrs. There are 5 inhabited islands. I do not believe they allow boondocks no but the tourism office would know best.

I think there are 5 or 6 campgrounds. Gros Cap has a great view and laever open sites still not huge. Very nice park. We are at Camping Sillons. Packed like sardines but right on an amazing beach. Another choice for on the beach would be Camping Belle Plage. Since we love the beach we would put up with tight quartery and come back here. As a matter of fact we just extended our stay by 3 days.

I spied that little island while looking at the NL map....how long is the ferry ride?

Is there boon docking on that island or just campgrounds?

Le Cafe de La grave was awesome yesterday for lunch.

It really is beautiful here. The weather is cooperating so far. The beaches are amazing.

Any recommendations on restaurants? We hear they are all good but thought I would ask.

We go to Magdalen Islands every summer . We love it there and have relatives there . We use a class B Roadtrek and stay at Camping des Sillons . Its very nice and right next to a beach 22 km long The owners are friendly and you will love it there .

We are looking for tranquility and good food. While talking with the agent at the ferry reservations, she tells me that's what we will find during that time of year. I also called the Camping Sillon and will be reserving site 71 once we make up our mind this week.

I stayed for 10 days that was five years ago. There was lots of activities during the time I stayed but that was the end of July and the beginning of August but I don't think there will be much going on during the time period that you want to go.

I stayed at Parc de gros cap a few years ago and it was a really nice place, it's not far the ferry and close to amenities.

Another place is Camping des sillons. Next time I go back I plan to stay there. Mind you both places are excellent.

As it's late in the season it will be fairly quite and you stated most of the crowds are gone.
