Looking at Google ...

Routing trip from Tillamook and wondering if pulling a 30 ft. TT down to Highway 22 is a good idea

or should we go down to Otis on 101 and go Highway 18 to cutoff to Highway 22 to Fort Yamhill, Grand Ronde ..

the mileage is not the issue ... the issue is the type of roads/highways which are available and which option is best for traveling while towing ..

Highway 22 between Hebo and Grand Ronde is fine. I travel that road every week and it is a good road. I would suggest turning right onto Grande Ronde Rd. versus following Hwy 22 to it's junction with Highway 18 because it easier to get on Highway 18 at that point (less Casino traffic) than the other.

Today I drove my Dodge and my 38' Montana from Pacific City onto Hwy 101 and then onto Hwy 140 to Grand Rhonde. This road is smaller and has a few bridges that are one lane only. I have traveled many times with my drift boat on the Hwy off Hwy 101 between Hebo and Grand Rhonde(I think it is Hwy 240). This road is a slow grade to about 900 ft....with a travel time between Hebo and Grand Rhonde of about 30 minutes. Traveling with a 30' trailer should not be an issue. Many log trucks use this same road from Hebo to Grand Rhonde.

With Google Maps I get a lot of route information by switching to terrain mode and zooming in. Also streetview is great.
