Cellphone Service in Alaska--Alltel Plan under Verizon

this is a warning to all of you who still have a alltel plan Under Verizon.

You do NOT have coverage in Alaska IF YOU STILL HAVE YOUR OLD ALLTEL PLAN! Use you phone and you will be hit with hundreds of $$$$ in charges if you do use it a lot.....like I did. $500 worth of overcharges!

I added the Canadian Plan but never thought that Alaska would not be covered. In fact a Verizon repre. said it was.

At this point I am also looking for any old Alltel plan members who never changed their plan and who are under Verizon.

I wonder why there is anyone under an Alltel plan. I've been through several providers, including Alltel, bought out, eventually to Verizon and there as never been any legacy restrictions.

That's odd, my regular verizon plan covers Alaska just like home. Sounds like Alltel users are getting a raw deal!
