I have the basic route planned out but am looking at an option and would appreciate any feedback on that. We will take I-74 across Illinois then end up on US-20 across Iowa to I-29. Now my first thought is I-90 into Idaho but we could go up I-29 to I-94 until it joins I-90 In Montana.
I also see getting off I-94 at Glendive and going to 200 across most of Montana back to I-90. What should we expect to find in mountains and road conditions etc. if we would try that route?
Not looking for things to do, we are just going out for a short visit so just traveling through and thought maybe go out one way and back the other. That way we would get a little different scenery on the return trip. Road conditions and RV friendly places to overnight, rest areas etc. Thanks, Jim.

I agree with US 12. You could take US12 all the way id you want to see the USA. Traveling the interstate is not the real USA. It's just a blur of fields and traffic. KEN

We just left Idaho. Took 90 to Three Forks, MT. Then 90 to Butte, I15 down to 43, over to 93 and north to Idaho 12 (Lolo Pass). Amazing beautiful roads the entire way. We camp at FSCG Powell on 12. It is one of our favorite CGs ever. I would love to give you any other info from our trip trough a PM. Enjoy your trip and be safe. Betsy.
