Those lanes are tight!! I bumped my mirror on the post, no damage, but had to be re-adjusted. Overhead is 12'3". I handed the agent our passports and suggested he probably had no input on the building of the new facility. He said," no, I would have made them wider & taller". 2 minutes later he handed back our passports and said," have a nice day."
Easiest crossing ever.

Before the gate there were so many cars parked I couldn't go have our passports stamped and turn in the FMM's. I understand it is no longer required ??

OK here is what INM told my partner when he contacted them yesterday:

I just called to INM to the 800 number. I was told that that yes, in fact ( I would say in theory) the form FMM should be delivered at the INM at the MEX/USA border when Canadians and American Tourists leave the country, the functionary told me that it is true, that some times there are no officers to claim or pick up the document so you can keep it handy just in case as a future reference, when you access again to Mexico, there are no penalties on this so it shouldn't be a reason of worry for our visitors...

The Dude at the counter in the Immigration Office South of Eagle Pass told Me that I was wasting My and His Time turning in the Visitor Card! He told Me that they have an expiry date and He was just tossing them in the Basura!

That was good enough for Me!

I'm 12'11" and won't go through the normal lanes. I stay to the far right and pull up to a locked gate. If no one comes out I go inside and they open the gate and direct me. After I'm parked, we leave the vehicle and they run their large scanner around the coach and then look . They have me watch their examination of the interior, ask a few questions and then we are on our way. A friend of ours went through the lanes and damaged his rubber roof to the tune of $3000. If you are real tall just stay to the far rigt.

We rolled through Lukeville, no mirror touch, and we had an addition on our AC that made us 10" taller, and were fine.

Haven't turned in an FMM since we were told officially not to bother them with it.

here I some comments (I got on facebook when i asked about this:

This year we turned ours in but for the past 3 years we have not and we had no issues crossing. We were told by one agent a couple of years ago that it is not necessary because when they expire they are no longer in the system.

Haven't turned one in yet after 5 trips thru Nogales over 5 years.

This year we turned ours in but for the previous 3 years we did not. It was never a problem coming back. In fact one agent told us that it was not necessary that once they expire they are no longer in the system.

Not anymore as of Jan 15, 2015 except if flying out. You simply let them expire.

ON edit this may only apply to Baja. For the last 2 seasons I have simply mailed mine in to an address in baja (I was traveling the mainland in both cases) Never had an issue getting a new one. I will have my partner try to clarify this and I will look up that address to mail it to and post it here later.

Yeah it is ridiculous to cross with a motorhome, but hey even in my 15 pass van it gets to rockin. I really don't know why they have to make it so uncomfortable. At least when we bring caravans back across they move the barriers for us so we can clear quickly.

There are lots of scars on those posts. I take it real easy, the speedbump at that post can get you rocking. It takes me a couple of minutes to get all of the axles across that one speedbump.
