Gary Haupt is a frequent poster to the Canada and Alaska forum section. He recently mentioned he was headed to Mexico for awhile. He had become concerned with the snow load on the building, where he had his Class C, RV stored. He removed his rig and a few days later, the building did collapse from the weight of the snow. Gary lives in Kitimat, BC just SW of Kitwanga Junction, over by the coast where it really knows how to snow.

So this past weekend he decided to shovel the snow off the roof of his home, and managed to fall off the roof, breaking his leg. So he will be doing the hippity hop pirate walk for some time with his cast.

In this house, that voice that is saying "don't", is usually mine (the wife's). He has the scars to prove he doesn't listen.

Best wishes to both Gary and Tiger -- I know what it is like to be out of commission due to injuries. (After three bad bicycling accidents, I ride a lot slower than I used to.) The only silver lining is that both of you will be up and around in time for the prime summer travel season.

Took 11 years for me-prviously-broken-parts-of-self to start demanding replacement parts. Now, 1.5 years on expecting to get them this year.

Or what you've broken may be repaired, but that doesn't last as long as parts of you uninjured by life.

Really glad to hear you are still kickin', even if it is temporarily with one leg, LOL.

Could've been much worse, or worse...

Don't be afraid to put a soft pillow under your backside to help avoid the numbness and poor circulation.

There are a number of you that are nursing broken bones or other medical 'things' and to you I say...I am sorry.

I had 12 weeks of travels all set to go as of today, Friday. Was leaving Kitimat for Vancouver, flying to Mexico for 2 weeks with a ner-do-well that some of you know, then back to Vancouver, grab the RV and head for a ranch in Montana to see how they do the calving and branding, back home end of April. Funny how things turn out. It'll be there next year.

Gary, I never go the roof of anything anymore. I am afraid that I couldn't be put back together again, (1997 auto accident left me with 2 broken femurs, tibula, radieus, calaneus, left arm). Lots of metal needed to patch me up.)
