So we made it to the Tabasco Plantation and Jungle Gardens with my 2 year old grandson, who had a blast but the road between Baton Rouge and Lafayette was awful, had to keep it around 50-55mph to keep the bounce down! wound up with a door off the track inside. had heard the road was bad but wow! have not experienced that before! Where LA had repaved it was ok, but the original concrete was just terrible!

Living in Louisiana we have learned long ago not to take I-10 and to use US-190 instead. Also avoid Baton Rouge traffic at all cost. There are other ways around the state, just stop and ask the locals which way to go a we will send you on a better and more scenic route.

When we were on it last winter we pulled off and checked tires. Thought we had a flat.

Wow! You telling me they still haven’t fixed that road? I traveled I-10 from the west coast to the east coast in 2005 and that was the worst stretch the whole trip.
