We are traveling this Friday from Middletown NJ (Jersey Shore) to Newport RI. NO CAMPER just a dually pickup. Traveling in the early morning about 5am. Would you take 95 all the way up? Would appreciate all recommendations. Thanks in advance

You cannot run a dually on the Hutchinson Pkw in NY or the Merritt/Wilbur Cross Pkw in CT and are likely to get pulled over if a trooper sees you. Not completely sure of the rules in NY but in CT, the GVWR allowed on the Merritt/Wilbur Cross, even with combination plates is 7500 lbs. My F250 registration included a large size legend that the truck could not be used on those parkways. Through CT, you will likely be on I-95 after coming off the Tappan Zee and taking 287 to I-95. I will be running I-95 northbound tomorrow morning towing a 27 foot boat named "North Star."

The OP has a dually. Depending on how the dually is registered (commercial plates), it may prevent them from going on parkways.

5am through NYC is not usually bad at all. After 7 or 8am though, the Tappanzee route would probably be a better choice.
