Lake Louise Campground - Elec only?

The description of the Lake Louise Trailer Campground says "Electrical-only" sites. Does it mean no water hook-up?

Yes, in Yoho we could hear the trains on the tracks, but it was not too bad. Plus our campsite was right on the river, which provided "white noise." The difference is that in Yoho, there were no nearby grade crossings, so there were many fewer horns.

I remember the trains more from Yoho Kickinghorse than from the LL Tent campground. At Kickinghorse, the trains are climbing through the spiral tunnel above the campground. So their sound echos through the valley. But it isn't as close as at Lake Louise Trailer.

If you camp near the Trans Canada Highway, there's a good chance there will be trains.

Note there are TWO gas stations in Lake Louise. I went to the wrong one and paid 20% extra.

As profdant said the trains are the real problem.
Be aware that the railway runs close to all the campgrounds between Banff and Lake Louise.
Castle Mountain is probably the quietest. Further north beyond Lake Louise the railway bears off to the west, so all will be quiet further north towards Jasper. No real driving problems although the paved road surface is not too good since it is effected by the freezing mountain conditions in the winter

And bring earplugs -- the train tracks run right past the campground, and there is a grade crossing nearby, so the horns blow very loudly all night long. The location of the campground is great -- but we had to leave after two nights and move to Yoho, a half hour away, because the trains kept waking us up.

You assume correctly. Power only (30 Amp) at the sites. There is water available to fill your tank at the sani-dump station which is accessed from the main road entering the campground past the Park gate.

I would assume random spigots for water, not at each site.
