Hi all,
Sitting in Up The Creek RV Park juat south of Pigeon Forge and Seiveirville, Tn. Looking to get to Nashville without going back through Sevierville. Was thinking Rt 321 to Maryville then 33 to I-140 then I-40 to Nashville. To those of you who know the area does this sound like a good plan? Alternatives? Thanks. Sevierville was not hard to negotiate but it took an hour to go 17 miles. Thanks

Took 321 to Eston and I 40. Worked out fine. Thanks to all for the replies.

Look, if you leave early enough in the morning like before 8am then heading straight up through Sevierville should not be an issue traffic wise really although that would not be my preferred route. If you want to take 321 then you should because it isn't that intimidating at all. That would be the way I would go. It cuts off a few miles and it takes you around Maryville. Just stay on 321 and it connects to 40. If you go up the parkway to pick up 40 then you have to go through Knoxville on 40 and it can be awful traffic wise. Taking 321 bypasses K'ville. I have a 37 foot travel trailer and I would tow my rig on it without hesitation. Been on it many times.....I live in Dandridge and have been through that area many times. Hope you enjoyed your stay here in the land of Dolly.

Could you clarify what you mean by upper route? Thanks.

Not enough traffic between you and I 40 to worry about---get on 40 and roll on. To me 321 is the scenic way as from Pigeon Forge up to 40 at this time of year isn't crowded. We also go there often

Not a bad road really. It's 2 lane into Townsend with a curve or 3 and some downhill grade with one very wide sharp turn. It will handle most size rigs. Just stay on 321 to Eaton and then pick up 40.
