Needles, Ca. to Mesa, Az. which route?

Am going in Mid. Oct from Needles, Ca. to Mesa, Az.
I have looked at two routes.
Needles south on 95 to Quartzsite, East on I-10 etc. on to Mesa.250 miles

Needles east on I-40 to Kingman, South on 93 to Phx-Mesa 270 Miles

Which would be the better roads?

35' Allegro Gas, towing a Saturn so 55-60 mph max.

I might want to spend the night somewhere just before Phx. any
Casino or Wal-mart etc. or pull thru rv park, (dfon't want to un-hook) you are familiar with? I don't want to go thru
Phx-mesa during rush hour.

Also, coming back from Mesa to Fresno, Ca. about Nov. 5th.
Weather should be ok no snow etc. maybe showers.
What are your experiances and what would you advise? Have time
and can stop and smell the roses (have been to grand canyon) which
route and where to stop and stay on way back to Fresno?

Appreciate you advise.

We go Needles to Eloy, Az for the Winter and like 95 (CA) to 62 to Parker to 95 (AZ) to I-10 at Quartzsite then East.

If you are worried about fuel don't be. From Needles to Parker is a little over 100 miles and the total trip to Mesa is less than 250 miles.

Safe travels.

With the drive at the 180 mark to West Phoenix leave at 8 in the morning even with a 50 mile average speed that would put you into West Phoenix before 12. Top of with fuel at the Chevron at Vicksburg Road and I-10. Just be aware of the prices that they have on the signs and the price on the pump are not always the same.
That could be that the Chevron and Zip are different pumps. I always fuel on the Zip pumps.

I would not recommend the Calif. Hwy. 95 , it is too bumpy, curvy and desolate and no fuel:( Take the Ariz. Hwy. 95

95 South to Parker, then the 72 to Vicksburg and take Vicksburg Road to the I-10. We usually stop in Gila Bend so can't help you with the stop for the night.

Overnight stops...... Rest stops along I 10.
On 93 there is a quiet little Blm campground just south of Wikieup, AZ called Burro canyon. Water and dump available . Golden age is half price.
