Will be leaving Moab and heading to Vernal via 191 and on to I-80. You can see what I am driving. I am more concerned with the stretch from Vernal to I-80.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Hi. Altho an easy drive, Its a big climb(10 switchbacks) from Vernal up to top of the mesa. I'd disconnect & drive the TOAD up separately if possible.

It's a vacation and you want to see the country - so you will be fine - a suggestion is to go around Flaming Gorge on the West side and stay on the Lake - also the site in Dino NM on the Green River are GREAT.

I think you are starting to understand I favor spending the Night ON the Water.

IMHO all these roads are fine and in your Rig you will have NO issue.

Not the easiest drive but I wouldn't be overly concerned about it. A bunch of wide switchbacks going uphill (fairly steep at 7 percent), but the speed limit is low. Then a good downhill to the dam and a few ups and downs over to 80. Stop at the Red Canyon visitor center, It's only six miles from 191 on rt 44 and is well worth a short detour. You won't be disappointed.
