Route around Nashville

Heading from Louisville KY to Florida via I-25. I'm a little leary of hauling the CHU through what looks like the middle of Nashville. And it looks like there's a lot of construction. Is the Hwy 155 loop a good way to go around? Should I just push on through? Or is there another way around? Thanks for any help.

I've tried other routes and ended up just plowing thru Nashville. Just make sure you do it way before their rush hour. No problem just watch the merge from another road from the right.

Take SR 155/Briley Parkway all the way from I-24 exit #43 back to I-24 at exit #54. Now the last 3 miles is not freeway like, there are about 5 lights. It is 4 lane and IMHO beats going through downtown. There is no real benefit in going I-40 east to TN-840, just adds 20 miles.

I have driven thru lots of times. However I would go between 10AM and 2Pm. However I always stop at **** of the Walk for good catfish and fried pickles. I have driven the 65 thru and I don't think it would be a big deal. However if going around Brilley there's a good catfish place there as you cross the river on your right. Several C/G's and C/W beside **** of the Walk. If I were going around Brilley I would go 155 to I 40 W and go 2 miles and take 24 S "May be E" to I 440 and go West to I 65 S. MOHO

Last time I was through that area, on I-24 to I-40 I used the Briley Parkway/155 around the NE sector of Nashville. It wasn't an issue as I recall, but it was also late morning timeframe.

My guess is, you perhaps mean I-65 from KY in to TN, rather than I-25 which is out west. I'm sure some of the local folks will probably have some other suggestions that would work as well.

Yes, this is correct. SR 155 (aka Briley Parkway) is a good 4 lane road. Some traffic lights but not terrible.

Take SR 155 from I-65 (go south and east, do not go west) over to I-40. Go east on I-40 to pick up SR 840 at MM 235. Take SR 840 WEST and it will take you down to I-24, to the south east of Nashville. You can also continue on 840 to pick up I-65 straight south of Nashville.

This is best done at mid-morning to mid-afternoon. It will be about 15 miles further than going straight through but WAY WAY easier.

Pick up a TN road map at the state line welcome center and it will clearly lay it all out for you. (I wish more people would do this!)

Hit it after morning rush hour and Bailey Parkway should be a breeze.
