Sign making vendors in Watson Lake?

We forgot to bring a sign. Are there vendors in Watson Lake that will make a custom sign for the Sign Post Forest? Any sophisticated enough to transfer a JPEG to a sign?

Some get stolen, I'm sure - like the Australian license plate that one of my guests hung. A few months later, it wasn't were it had been 😞

There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of signs added every year. Not only are some moved, at times, but they have to clean out the sign Forrest from time to time. There are very few "old" signs there. I have never found one of mine over ten years of age and I have probably hung six or eight, over the years since 1962.

The more attractive you make your sign, the more chance it has of lasting, I would guess.

Part of the fun is to make a sign, we had our kids make one up out of one of our leveling blocks using a hammer and chisel when we were up there for the 50th anniversary of the Alaska Highway in 1992.

Another important suggestion: Be sure to document exactly where you posted the sign! We were back there a couple of years ago, we spent multiple hours looking for that 1992 sign and we never found it because of the large numbers of signs and posts placed since our original visit. Maybe a GPS locator would help!!

We just drove over and went in to see the movie. With our Verizon and $15/mth Canadian access with Telus it's just like the US, same minutes etc, no country code. It's like transparent phone service. :B

Buy you do need the area code which I'd bet a dounut is the same as any other phone in WL and 2 donuts that it's the same in all of Yukon.

We didn't see any vendors advertising yesterday when we went through Watson Lake.
You have plenty of material to make a sign. We saw everything from license plates, pieces of wood, frying pans, cookie sheets, and everything else you could imagine to include a bed pan! Use your imagination and you will be just fine!
Can't comment on the movie. We missed it again this year. Showed up for the advertised 6:30 showing and didn't find out until this afernoon they only had one showing yesterday and it was at 3:00pm! They say to call 536-star for movie scheduling. I don't have a clue about area or country codes. That's all they had on their marquee.

The tourist info centre sells slabs of wood suitable for making a sign. They can also provide a hammer and nails. I'm not aware of any sign makers there.

We made ours from a slab of firewood, "branded" with our town's name, made around the campfires we had each night on the way to Watson Lake.
