We will be heading from Atlanta to Buffalo,NY. The way I see it....75 to Cincinnati, then 71 to Cleveland, then 90 to Buffalo. Am I looking at tolls?, bad roads?, or any "surprises" I might need to know to prepare for??? Is there a possible better alternate to what I think?

I-90 through Ohio isn't a toll road. It becomes a toll road shortly after entering NY. Here's the NY fare schedules.

We used to do this every year. We like I-75 to Knoxville, continue east on I-40 then I-81 to I-77. Then I-77 north to I-79. Stay on I-79 to Erie, then I-90 to Buffalo. Pittsburg is the only really big city along this route. There are lots of choices. lizzie

Cleveland to Buffalo is a toll road in NYS. Via I-86 and and US 19, no tolls but 50 miles longer. I haven't driven either one.
