If you are planning to use these roads either northbound or southbound you might want to reconsider.

The TOW from Chicken to the last five miles or so to the border are terrible.

Also between an hour or so SB out of Dawson City to Pelly Crossing has some long stretches of construction, gravel, washboard and then whopping huge potholes to Stewart Crossing.

The worst sections of road for the entire trip which also included the Denali Highway, also not very good, & the Robert Campbell Highway, which was 300 miles of mostly gravel and excellent.

This was the fifth time doing the Dawson, TOW route so I do have previous experience to compare to.

did this trip in 2022 and yes it is a bit rough and has its challenges but if driven with sense and not being in a hurry which if you are doing this trip and in a hurry don’t do it this is not a trip for that but back to the trip the TOW was worth having to wash my truck and camper doing a sour toe cocktail in Dawson city and a chicken shot in chicken riding the ferry across the Yukon River yes the road to Tok is rough but just take it easy did it once and would do it again came back from Tok to Haines Jct on Alaskan HWY was not any better in fact in spots it was worse

Also stop at Braeburn Lodge if it’s still open on the way to Dawson city  and get a cheeseburger and a giant cinnamon roll ( they freeze well too).
