Watch your speed in NC

Just a heads up to those of you traveling to or through North Carolina. They appear to be cracking down on any speeding, even a mile or two. At least for a while.

While I do not condone speeding, at the same time, if you choose to do the speed limit or less, then please stay out of the passing lanes. Nothing irritates me much more than someone parked in the passing lanes traveling at 5 or 10 mph under the posted limit. You are more dangerous than someone doing 80 because people have to go around you on the right.

Stay in the right lane. Thank you.

I drive the speed limit in my daily driver, MH and toad. If you're behind me, go around or leave earlier. I see no reason to speed up and risk a ticket to make a stranger happy.

Customs vary from state to state. There are actually quite a few states with strict enforcement rules. A couple border on Texas, making a lot of money from Texans coming through who are accustomed to "ten over is minimum speed" on their own roads.

Since you don't care about the vehicles behind you (obviously you care only for your self), would you please have just a little consideration for those who need/want to get around you and keep in the right lane? Just because you have all the time in the world, there are truckers and others who still have a job and schedules to meet. Keep out of the left lane!

It's pretty common almost everywhere outside of urban areas to give 10 mph more or less leeway but that is just the officer's discretion. But that's not the law. If the law says the speed limit is 70 mph then it doesn't mean +10 too. Some places are more strict than others.

Glad to hear this! I wish Indiana would crack down! Especially around Indianapolis! I don't speed, never have, but I do run the speed limit. And I don't care how many other vehicles are behind me. Never have worried about them!

After all, "it's all about ME!" and "ME" don't want no speeding tickets!

That is correct - the speed limit is the speed limit for all.
