What will Canadians fo this fall/winter

We Canadians could be stuck in Canada for a long time. The borders may not be open until 2021. Not fun.

Quebec seems to be a special case. I hate to say it, but they do not like following rules. Witness a few groups of Quebec snowbirds not heading home to quarantine but caught going shopping in March. They also had a higher portion of care home issues.

Actually Canada has a higher urban population rate than the US, 81.5% vs 76%. Most Canadians live in cities, mainly in a 200 mile strip along the southern border.

The infection rate and death rate in Quebec is almost identical to that of either Texas or California. So maybe you are beating the drums of success a bit too loudly. Of course Canada has an overall lower rate of infection than the US, it has a vastly greater percentage of the population living in suburban and rural areas. Though the media apparently refuses to report it, the statistical facts clearly show that COVID is primarily spread in Urban settings, which is to be expected. There is are reasons the infection rates in NYC, Boston, New Jersey and the other eastern metro areas far exceed those elsewhere in the US and those reasons are population density, public transportation and the unavoidable interactions with many people that those issues create.

I bet Q will be a dud. No Canadians and who would want to be in that crowded tent as for Mexico it could be years before they recover from the pandemic. The Gov. Is basically bankrupt and the virus is getting worse. Very sad.

Europe is closed to US citizens because instead of trying to get the infection curve down it is climbing exponentially, Canada on the other hand has maintained a flat curve and Europe is open to them, so instead of trying to travell trough the US and be denied entrance to Mexico maybe staying home might be adviasable, I do not see the situation improving in the US, on the contrary it will be worst come winter with the covid-19 and winter flue and there seems to be a resurgence of a mutated H1-N1 swine virus that may or may not turn into a pandemic.

Maybe staying home is best.

There is so much stupidity here in the US we are not likely going to Fl this year or Az. It is really sad for our Canadian friends but they will be better off to stay out of the madness here. We left Fl ion early March, came home reset the trailer and headed to our house in the northern part of Michigan. Glad we did as here in our county there have been almost 9000 cases, up north 23 cases. We really want to travel somewhere in our TT but the risks are high is we go anywhere that we cannot just be by ourselves. We are happy to at least be staying well. My wife's cousin is married to a Canadian and they have not been able to see each other (she works in Canada) since March. Hope everyone can deal with this and we hope in the fall that our government takes a different tack, Heck we cannot even go abroad!

We are staying put until there is a vaccine available. I have a few Canadian friends that are making different plans for the winter other than heading to Mexico.
We are heeding all safety precautions whether the border opens or not.

Europe is opening up right now. There are tons of snowbirds in southern Spain and Morroco. Portugal can also be nice. But southern Spain is still one of our favourite winter vacations.

I can plan activities other than camping and it appears that is what I will need to do.
