Anyone with suggestions on things to do and see between Denver and Kingman, AZ (via I25 and I40)? We're on our way to Lake Havasu for a few days of fishing and water play sometime in the next month or so.

Thanks, all. I'll get my wife to look thru this for options. For me, I'm afraid I'm kind of a destination-focused traveler. I stop for fuel - potty stops better coincide with fill ups! ๐Ÿ™‚

Slow down. It's the Journey....Not...the Destination.

Maybe Roadside America has something interesting along your route.

In addition to the two sites mentioned above, I'd suggest Sunset Crater and Wupatki National Monument which is focused on a volcanic eruption and ancient Native American ruins. It's just north of Flagstaff on Hwy 89.

Wupatki National Monument

Another fine site is Walnut Canyon which is just a little way outside of Flagstaff (South of I-40).

Walnut Canyon

All of the sites mentioned above may have problems with accessibility in January if there has been significant snowfall. Check Arizona road conditions here:

Petrified Forest NP is interesting.
Plan on spending the night at Meteor Crater RV Park and visit the Crater.
