Bryce/Zion now?

We are in Southern New Mexico at this time and are getting ready to head to.......somewhere?

How is the weather in southern Utah this time of year? According to Weather Channel it looks okay.

Would it be possible to get campsite {electric if possible) without reservations at this time of the year or do I need to get reservations? (Prefer inside parks.)

We have a 26FT motorhome with toad.

Thanks for any other info on this area. We have been to Arches several years ago.

No problems where restaurants are concerned. We don't eat out a lot. But thanks for other info.

Down load free Intellicast app from playstore. Will give you weather anywhere you plan to go. Bryce is all walk-in and dry camping.

Zion requires reservation. Check WWW.recreation.gov for availability.

Our weather, 21 miles from Zion has been in the mid to upper 80s and forecast to remain there for the next couple weeks. This is NOT the off season in Zion, but is the PEAK of the fall tourist season, so plan accordingly. Bryce is much higher and will be a little cooler. However it is also peak tourist season there. Should have no problem with RV space during the week, but weekends will be a problem at both areas. This weekend is Octoberfest in Springdale, just outside Zion and we are going tonight. There will be various festivals into mid Nov in the Zion area and through the month in Bryce City.

I'm envious littlemo - haven't been down in that area for several years, but it was gorgeous. We also included the North Rim of the GC and the other side of Zion - Kolob Canyon.

Bryce would be the cooler of the two so I'd go there first while the weather seems good. Have a good trip!

This is a great time to be in Utah - from what I heard it might be a little warm today but we usually only travel into Utah when the weather is good.

We have never found that we need reservations in the off season.

We also generally stay in the Park - Last time in Zion with the Kids-we rented a room for them and we just Camped in the parking lot, because there were so few people they said no problem.

After leaving Zion I suggest that you head to Bryce and then take the Hogback (Rt 12) over to Capital Reef and Goblins then over to Moab and if needed head back down catching Monument Valley and then Canyon De Chelly.
