Can't help you with the campground but that "HIKE" is just that...it's a long way down to the falls. They now have helicopter flights down to the falls. We hiked it in my younger days and it's a beautiful trip although not necessarily for the faint of heart. Some of the drop offs are a long way down and the trail is more of a path. They also have mules and horses that use the same trail. They have the right of way over hikers. Enjoy the trip but it's not one where you'll hike down in the morning and up in the evening. The Supai have accommodations for overnight stays near the falls.
There are actually three falls there and each is unique. One you can walk the trail BEHIND the falls...don't miss it....Dennis
