Anyone have suggestions for campgrounds around DC over the Labor Day weekend?
We are looking to be in Chevy Chase for a funeral.
Thanks

If you qualify, (military, DOD civil, or ?) fort Mead is the best in the area.

Thanks for the replies, I have booked Cherry Hill. It looks the handiest to where we are going to be. The National Park Greenbelt is closed until 2020.

Thanks

If you don't need hookups, Greenbelt National Park is quite close to Cherry Hill and very rarely fills up...though I would get a reservation for Labor Day weekend regardless. It's inexpensive, too.

You could stay at Washington DC / Capital KOA. I just checked and they have several 30 amp sites available.

In the chance those parks are full due to Labor Day weekend look at Smallwood State Park. They are not full hook-up but close enough for DC.
