I am looking for a spot as close as possible to Minneapolis next week Sun-Sun. I know this is short notice and it will be limited since I need to stay the weekend, but looking for any advice. I have called most of the places I can find on google maps. Any hidden places that can take a big rig ? Any places that have spots that are non reserve I can get in on Sunday ?

A few years ago we passed through this area and we stayed at Willow River State Park in Wisconsin. We stayed there a couple days so we could visit The Mall of America, and then headed further North to our destination, Itaska State Park.

Granted, we had to drive a bit to get to the Mall, the serenity at the state park was well worth it.

Do NOT stay at St. Paul East. Can be nice enuf park but the owner is a very loose cannon; particularly after about mid afternoon. Also well known in the area for the same reputation.
