Cape Cod

I know there are quite a few posts about Cape Cod, but would like some suggestions regarding best park for a 33' TT, preferably pull thru site with FHU, and not one on top of the other. It's just the wife and I, so really don't need much at the campground itself. Trying to get there next Thursday and leave Tuesday morning; do you think it's safe traffic wise to go towards the middle of the cape, or should we stay closer to the bridge for an easy escape on Tuesday? We haven't been there since our kids were young, so I'm sure a lot has changed.

Chatham's bistro on Main was excellent! we didn't make happy hour so prices were a little more than we would have liked.

We also did the raw bar at Arnolds, $23 got us about 24 oysters and clams! :C

I'm sorry, I thought I had replied. As I mentioned, we were able to get a site at Atlantic Oaks, and would definitely stay at again. It is at the "quieter" side of the Cape, which is what we preferred. We also bought the National Park Pass while there and were able to use it twice at beaches, so that was half the cost right there, which made it worth it. The beach we "ended up" at after stops at many, was at the end of the Cape in Provincetown. The reason for this was that we decided to buy a Beach Wagon, you know, the ones with big wheels and folds...well, we didn't remember from 20+ years ago that most of the National Beaches had a few flights of stairs to go down to get on the beach! So we loaded the wagon and dragged it across the parking lot on a few different stops before we found a beach we could actually use it on. Anyway, that is off our bucket list now. We laughed about it on the ride back home, so we made memories...isn't that what it's all about?! Thanks again to everyone for your suggestions.

I've been by there and it's a nice spot. Not in Chatham, about 15 minutes away, but you won't have to get on Rt 6 to get there.

It's seasonals and probably cliquie. The summer home communities tend to be. It got 3 good and 3 terribles on rvparkreviews.com

Has anyone stayed at the Old Chattam Rd RV camp? Looks mostly seasonal, but we are fine with that (we used to be seasonal years ago) as we use it mostly just to sleep and eat. Has a pool for the kids and appears to be near the bike trail (Twin oaks sold out). I was the one who posted the other thread about spending a week on MV. Thats good to know that its changed a bit. We stayed at Cape Cod Camping Resort a couple of times and really liked it. While it has a pool it also is lakefront to swim in and near Falmouth Woods Hole. But it is a truck to get down the cape. We stopped in and looked at Atlantic Oaks but it looked tight so I guess they changed it up. We pull a 30 foot TT. PTown, The Lobster Pot, Woods Hole Shuckers and in Hyannis right by the dock is a restaurant with a second floor view of the water and ferries. All of these had fantastic lobster rolls. Whale watch out of P Town is a must do. For hands on with the kids, Woods Hole has a sciantific cruise, pull up lobster pots etc. Run by marine biologist was very educational. We also took the ferry from Woods Hole to Marthas Vineyard for the day. Alot of fun. My wife and i also did the bike trail. We drove to a couple of different starting points and rode into different towns. A very cool way to travel and sight see. Oh we also went to the top of the tower in PTown, but boy it was hot and humid. Still great view! Lots to do and see. Happy Trails

Nauset Spit from the Orleans side. Each town issues permits. I don't know what the availability is these days.

Our favorite beach on the bay side is First Encounter Beach, about 2 miles from Atlantic Oaks. We prefer with tide going in but either way well worth a visit!
