Planning for Christmas '19 in Central FL....Fort Wilderness already booked but will keep working on that. Need some great recommendations of RV resorts near Orlando/Kissimmee area to the Space Coast area. We have been at Jetty Park & Tropical Palms. Really looking for the Fort Wilderness feel, but somewhere we haven't camped at before. Thanks for suggestions and Happy New Year!

Elite Resorts at Citrus Valley is just 6 mikes from the park, clean with great amenities for all. I would stay there anytime I need to be close to Disney.
Have Fiver will travel with little or no notice at all. I do need to stop at rest areas now and then:)

For a campground feel, look at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake. We absolutely love it there.

For Fort Wilderness, consider contacting a travel agent. It doesn't cost you anything extra and they're tasked with piecing reservations together to get you your requested stay. The two I deal with are Jason Adams with Mouse Counselors and Kelly Lamb with Kingdom Destinations.

Good luck!

Keep trying for Fort Wilderness, cancellations do come up. If you don't have season passes, Disney is $22 a day parking. River Ranch is a long way from everything.

Some of the sites at River ranch are really nice with decks and fire pits. Others are just a concrete slab. Lots are individually owned so amenities are up to what the owner did. They have a Saturday night rodeo which is pretty cool. But, the location is in the middle of no where. It's a long drive into Lake Wales for any supplies or to go out to eat.

Here are two campgrounds that we have used. They are about 20 minutes west of Disney just off of I4 and US 27. Its been a few years since I've been there, so I can't give a recent update as to there condition.

Keep trying By Telephone, Disney Fort Wilderness. I have had good luck on the phone, when the website says nothing is available. Get some days when you can and they keep phoning back, get more persistant in the fall when people that have previously booked, realized their plans have changed.
Book something now and then cancel or modify them when your Fort Wilderness plans have come together.
You definitely can't beat the Fort Wilderness experience, especially in the holiday seasons.

Thanks for posting, I was researching this week for 2019 and thought it was operator error that I couldn't find a rate. We will probably spend part of the holidays near Cape Canaveral. Last spring we stayed a few days at Joy RV Park in Cocoa. Not a resort feel, but clean and friendly.
Looking forward to new adventures and new friends.
