Having a hard time locating a good reviewed (non military) cg in this area. Anyone stay in this location that could recommend something nice for a longer term stay (2 weeks+)?
RV reviews doesn't give me much hope.

Thanks for the help!

Ok, thanks RE, I think Sequoia might be our closest option, I'm not sure about the fairgrounds because of security reasons.

Another vote for Sequoia RV Ranch, it's an hour from Lemoore. On base requires a sponsor in the rig, probably your best bet. Not much room for a big rig. Stationed at the base from 2007-2010, most recently

IDK, I'll check with them and see, maybe that would be the best and most secure if we can work it out! Thanks for the website and numbers!

There is a decent rv park on W. Jayne (main road off I-5 to Coalinga) just west of I-5. About 30 minutes to Lemoore NAS. North is Fresno and there is no place to stay there without armed guards.

Can't your son in law get you in the rv park on base? I'm retired AF reserve and usually a GI can get you on the CG, especially if they're going to be staying with you. (wink, wink).

Lemoore isn't exactly a destination resort but has a very nice rv park.

Their number is 559-998-0837 or 0838.

Website says they allow guests.

Website is militarycampgrounds.us

Thanks for the info Chief, thats a bit disconcerting to hear, we'd like to stay closer to Lemoor/Hanford area, our SIL is stationed there, but we are not permitted to stay on base. We'll have to come up with something, maybe North of Hanford?

I retired from CHP in Coalinga. The whole central valley is rough and NOT a vacation area. Be very careful wandering around the towns after dark if you don't know where you're going. LOTS of gang activity and many "no speak english".

Try Coalinga. Nothing around Hanford and if there was you WOULD NOT want to stay in it.

Thanks for all the help..Really struggling to find anything suitable other than your suggestions close by.

Wonder why that is? Looks like a nice area close to the mountains, you would think there would be all kinds of nice parks close by, but then again, I know nothing about that part of the US.

Thanks for the help, your advice is very helpful!

If you are traveling further south, there are several good parks in Bakersfield.

If you are there during the fair the fairgrounds have full hookups. Otherwise Visalia is a good place at Country Manor.

There's really not much in the area.

Up until about 10 years ago we would stay at the Visalia/Sequoia KOA on Avenue 308 at Road 76. It's far enough off of the freeway so no noise. It's an older campground but acceptable. The rvparkreviews.com are a good reflection of what we experienced. We no longer go in that direction is why we haven't been there in 10 years.

If you don't mind a drive our favorite in the area is near Three Rivers
Here's the website: http://www.sequoiarvranch.com/
It's about 25 miles from Hwy 99 so it would put you about 35 miles from Hanford.
