Page's Okra Grill too... AMAZING food. We went there for breakfast last year, it was incredible and a ridiculous amount of food for a fair price. Its a local's spot, not really a tourist spot.

What ever you do, don't stop at the welcome center and get talked into a tour package deal in exchange for attending a hard core sales pitch for time shares. We stayed at a bed and breakfast and walked everywhere from there. Be sure to visit the market.

Be sure to eat at Nicks BBQ at 288 King st. Have the brisket - you won't regret it.

Pearlz Oyster Bar is also a good place to eat.
Experience without good judgment is worthless; good judgment without experience is still good judgment!

Or drive over the bridge and visit. Patriots Point is one of my favorite places to visit. Go while you still have the luxury of actual WW2 vets working there. A couple years back I was fortunate enough to go while there was a sailor that was in the Yorktown fleet. I sat there for an hour and just listened to his stories. Great guy, but unfortunately they aren't going to be around much longer.

there are pamphlets all over the place. The tour we liked the best was a 2 tour deal. A Harbor Boat tour, and a carriage tour. They were both great, and only around $35 a couple.

However. By all means take the carriage, and boat tours. But then walk the streets. There are many houses, and a theatre that you can tour, but only if you are walking. Take your time, and you will see more.

Also take a boat to Fort Sumpter. Worth the trip

George,

Be sure to stop and see the Hunley.
Not cheap, but worth the tour.

A sailor, his bride and their black dogs (one dear dog is waiting for us at the bridge) going to see some dry places that have Geocaches in a coach made the year we married.

The ghost tour is a must. Charleston is full of interesting things to see. The tour company's are very good at what they do. Also take one of the carriage tours. It is well worth the money.
