Delaware for kids?

We are hoping to visit Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York next spring/summer.
My son wants to visit every state in the US and since we are going to be in the area, I thought we could visit Delaware as well and check that off of our list. We might be able to devote half a day, so not too much time.

A quick online search has not yielded anything exciting.
The kids will be 12, 10, and 6. I don't have anything specific in mind and we like it all; history, biking, museums, nature hikes, tourist areas. It would be nice to do something that is specific to Delaware, but I don't know what that is!
Even a family friendly restaurant recommendation would be nice.

Thanks in advance

In Baltimore there is also the Science Center and Fort McHenry which just celebrated the 200th anniversary of the writing of the Star Spangled Banner.

I second a trip to the Inner harbour in Baltimore. I just loved being able to get on the USS Constellation, top to way down in the bows, Havent thought of that trip in years..What fun for kids, and the Aquarium was also very nice.

One thing Delaware is known for its beaches. In the summer, most beach towns will be crowded but a 1/2 day is do-able.Strongly suggest you arrive early to secure parking. Rehobeth Beach offers much to keep the kids happy.Play in the surf or Ocean but also a small Boardwalk, arcades and lots of good places to eat nearby.

In Maryland suggest Baltimore's Inner Harbor and National Harbor are touristy, offer local flavor. Harper's Ferry National Park is to the West, just over the MD line into West Virginia - a worthy side visit if you can fit it in. Antietam Battlefield is also nearby.
Enjoy your visit.

Delaware attractions

This is a page I saw which may help you. I am originaly from Delaware, now living in Canada.
The Hagley museum was the first thing to come to my mind, since my father and a host of relatives of years gone by worked for the DuPont company near the Hagley site. It may be a small state, but does have lots to offer..
