FURNACE CREEK, Death Valley in the Summer.

With FHU has anyone camped in June. Will 2 A/C keep my 30 foot 5er cool. It does not need to be cold only cool enough to sleep.

Or am I crazy . . . :R
Please give me enough troubles, uncertainty, problems, obstacles and STRESS so that I do not become arrogant, proud, and smug in my own abilities, and enough blessings and good times that I realize that someone else is in charge of my life.

The reason NOT to go in June in an RV is built into the name...FURNACE Creek.

I would give it a go just for the experience. You can bail out any time.

Living in So Calf, much of my rv'ing is done in hot weather. I've been to Vegas and Pahrump, Nv when temps are in the 110-118 range. I have two 15k BTU arks, not ducted in a 37' well insulated mh. I have dogs also... trust me when I say, I won't let them suffer. Ive kept it not only cool but cold inside. My windows are tinted and I have sun shades and awnings for all windows. No slides! That's my experience..... take it for what its worth.

Hmmm...in Death Valley in the third week of June this year the lowest daytime high was 123. Any more questions?

My first question is why would you want to be in Death Valley in June?

In 2014, we spent 3 days in DVNP, but it was the first or second week of March. Even then, one day was in the upper 80's.

I doubt your AC's will keep your 5'ver cool.

Your RV refrigerator will not do well either. My guess is it will not keep below 50 degrees in the refrigerator let alone the 40 degrees you really need.

Why do you want to park in the middle of a desert in summer.:?

And no, the ac's will not keep your RV cool enough. RV's are nothing more than a big box sitting out in the open under the blazing sun.

98 degrees in Florida was undoable for me. Couldn't imagine being in an RV in the blazing sun where it gets over 110 degrees often.

Its just to hot. We went in May and it was 118. There are some okay RV parks in Beatty and some nice ones in Pahrump and both would be a better option and then you could drive down to the Valley in the morning and check it out. Because I will never ever ever again take 190 into the park because it scared the heck out of me, I recommend the east side.

I wont call you crazy, but the day time temps will be over 110, cooling off to the 70's at night. Sight seeing and hiking is not going to be pleasant.
My first trip across D V was in June going east to west. Stopped at Badwater early in the morning and is was already 105. Got back in the RV and did not stop till I got to US 395.

Nott exactly sure but my thoughts are no it will not keep it cool enough. At least not during the day.We stopped near needles California one afternoon when the temp was 115 degrees. Had been traveling with dash acnd blowing on us. It was too hot to stay in coach when sun was up, so we cranked the acnd up, went to a casino until after the sun went down. Not sure what daily temps will be in June, but I think it will be too hot for me.
