Glendo Lakeside RV Park

Although we made a 3 night reservation to this RV Park, we did not stay here. Our reservation was for Friday 8/21/14 through Saturday - checking out Sunday. We arrived early Friday morning, 8AM with plans on meeting friends in town and spending a day on the lake. Realizing that we may not be able to check in until later in the day, we were hoping that perhaps we could park our truck and trailer somewhere on the property so that we could go fishing. RV office hours stated 8AM to 10PM, however we waited from 8 until 9AM and the office was still empty. We called the RV Park number twice during this time but only received voicemail. We finally left a voice message of our plans and contact information and relocated the truck and trailer to an area we thought certain would not be in anyoneโ€™s way and headed for the lake.

We received return call from the owner at approximately 9:30 indicating that she wanted us to return and remove our truck from the property. She was extremely upset (ranting and raving) that we had arrived at the RV Park so early. We immediately returned to the park where the owner (Nancy) greeted us with very degrading comments about Coloradoans including many, many expletives.

Her hostility was so surprising, that I told her that she was apparently in the wrong business. With this remark she immediately jumped out of her cart and approached me in a manner that I was quite certain she was going to strike me. My husband and two observers thought the same thing. I stood my ground and told her we were only there to remove our vehicle and ensure that no charges were applied to our credit card. (CC number was given at the time the reservation was made) She indicated that she neither needed or wanted our money and there was no need for us to go into the office.

As we left, her parting words were โ€œTell all your โ€œF***ngโ€ Colorado friends to never come here, we do not want you people!โ€ โ€œStay the f**k in Colorado!โ€

I am hopeful that many traveling Coloradoans have the opportunity to read and heed this review. This woman was intimidating, irrational and very rude and I hope no one ever has to deal with her in the manner that we did. It was very evident that she has a huge dislike for Coloradoans, so if youโ€™re a โ€œGreenieโ€ I would advise you stay far away from this place.

I was raised in Colorado and made dozens of trips to Glendo. It is true, they hate us greenies(our license plates are green). I was harassed many times some almost physical.
I haven't been to Glendo since this rv park opened so I looked at a satellite picture of the park. I see nowhere you could park on their property without being in the way. I am thinking you just reinforced the typical greenie profile by leaving an unattended rig in a business owners way.

'Greenies' are not welcome in WY especially at Glendo.

This is a longstanding feud between WY/CO fishermen. :B

I looked this park up on rvparkreviews.com and the park and Nancy got great reviews going back over 2 years. Maybe she was having a terrible day or maybe there are 2 sides to this story. My2cents.

Just curious. I see a pattern of negative park reviews on this site from people who have joined up and become members the same day. Is there a sign somewhere that says, "If you are unhappy with a campground or RV park, go to rv.net, sign up and complain."? :B
