I have always wondered why everybody can use a grocery cart to carry their items out of themarket but can’t take a empty cart in when they arrive!

Locals were doing the basic maint. donating there time and $$$ for supplies but it was to overwhelming. Even had a group from the 29 Marine base emptying trash bins. As of yesterday all Campgrounds closed. Black Rock and Indian Cove are open but just for day use. Really affecting the local economy.

doxie, the LA Times has confirmed that volunteers have been doing their best. But there is a limit. The bathrooms are overflowing.

In several Calif parks, there is a terrible problem with illegal off-roading. No rangers, so here we go! When the cat is away, the mice will ATV.

It gives all ATVers a bad name, which is a shame. Most ATVers would never cut across country, off-road.

We have a friend in that area. She heard that volunteers were emptying the trash and cleaning restrooms, but had not seen it for herself, so didn't know if it was true or not.

Better to shut it down and preserve the place then allow it to be trashed by people that don't really care about the environment.

Although not at the caliber of Joshua Tree, a local Army Corps campground I like (Liberty Glen, Healdsburg CA) is displaying 'warnings' that the shutdown may affect future reservations, FYI.
There is something special about camping in an RV.
