Leisurely trip south, NH to Houston, TX

We will be migrating south at the end of October, looking for route suggestions, as well as stopovers, for a day or three on the way. Hoping to avoid /minimize cold , wintry areas.

Thanks for the suggestion, just wondering if weather would be a concern that way? Im thinking of I81.

Have you thought about 84/81/40 to Nashville and stopover to see Grand Ol Opry
Then Natchez trace (No commercial traffic allowed) to Natchez, stop at Tupelo to See Elvis Presley home. 3 NPS campgrounds right on the trace (no Hookups)
In Natchez you can dump and fill at the visitors center and leave your rig to explore Natchez.
from Natchez head to Alexandria Louisiana and then down 165 to meet up with I10 to Houston. Or at I10 head south to Cameron, LA and take the ferry across to Holly Beach, LA (The Cajun riviera). You may park on the beach free. Excellent shelling. Then continue on to Port Arthur Texas on the Blue water highway with Gulf views and pick up I10 to Houston
