Looking for campground to test out our new motorhome

Hi Everyone: We are picking up our new Class C Motorhome on Tuesday. We are very excited. We are looking for a campground close to Manassas Virginia, in this way if we have any problems we can stop at the dealership on the way back. Also I've checked on line, but although some campgrounds get good reviews they are more geared to small rvs and tents. Hoping for something easy in with level sites. Ours is 32 ft long. Lake Fairfax County Park might also be a reasonable option. I haven't stayed there myself, but it looks pretty decently nice from what I've seen online.

By the way, as an owner of a class C that happens to be exactly 32' long, I wouldn't worry too much about sites that are intended for "small RVs." In practice you'll find you can fit in most sites that could accommodate a typical mediumish travel trailer; you don't have the hitch and A-frame on the front to take up space, and you don't need as much room to maneuver in and out in general, and you don't have to find space to park your tow vehicle. That's not to say that every site will be big enough for you, of course, but there are plenty that are at most parks, even ones with generally smaller sites. Finding a place that is suitable should not be a great challenge.

Pohick Bay State Park, on the south side of DC, is a lovely park.

We have stayed here often visiting family. sites aren't big, but adequate for our 32' MH. Pull thrus. Full services. Near Manassas - between it and Woodbridge. Adequate for what sound like your needs

We've not done the Walmarts yet, but have taken advantage of Pilot/Flying Js.

You might want to check out state parks. There are three not far from the Northern VA area - Lake Anna, Shenandoah River, and Sky Meadows. We try to use state and national parks along with Army Corps of Engineer parks when we take our motor home out.

Great suggestions for giving all the systems a test.

I've stayed next to Million dollar plus rigs - so $$$$ is not an Issue.

Need something you have something in the store - allows you to test everything - If you need cooler head into the mountains - Deep Creek Lake area - Hard to beat the Wal*Mart!
