Is wintering in the lower part of Tennessee worth considering? We love Tennessee but really don't care for lots of snow and ice.

It would be way to cold for me.
It depends on the winter but not unusual to get snow and ice and many days below freezing.
If I were wanting to enjoy the winter I would go to warmer places.
Tennessee in the spring and fall is very nice.

Thank you for the reply's, when we referred to ice and snow in our area it is like this... when we get the first or second snow and it begins to slowly melt it turns into ice and then more snow covers it so we generally have three months of ice. When this happens traffic stops and we are iced in. We always prepare for being "stuck" for the duration. So a dusting of snow and a bit of jacket weather would be welcome. This last winter our heating bill was $800.00 a month.

This is really going to depend on what you're wintering in. If you have a condo, then no problem. If you have a hybrid TT then you're not going to enjoy yourself that much.

Keep in mind that the advice you get might be coming from people in S&B's which is much different then the advice you'ld get from a mobile snowbird when it comes to what makes a comfortable winter.

IMO December/January/February I would be south of I10.

Many? Uh no. Maybe 3-4 times a year we might get a dusting. Every now and then 2". It does get cold though.

Chattanooga enjoys warmer weather due to the river keeping the city warmer than the surrounding areas.
