Need overnight stay in northern Alabama

So the fam and I are headed down to Destin for fall break next week. We are getting a late start on Friday because I have to work. We are thinking we are going to make it to northern alabama/Birmingham area.

Does anyone know of any walmarts, etc... that allow campers to stay over night for free? I just called the camping world in Birmingham and they said they don't let campers stay overnight. Anyone have any other places you've over-nighted for free?

Not free, but we just did this trip and stayed at Birmingham South RV park on the way down. It was easy to get to, right off the Interstate. Had pull thru spots. On the way back home we stopped just south of Nashville at a place called Texas T Campground. A very nice family owned place again, right off the highway. Easy pull thru spots.
