Ocean lakes mess

Have spent the week in ocean lakes at myrtle beach. This park is completely out of control. The children on golf carts rule the roads from 8:30 pm on....trying to walk the dog is an exercise in simple survival. It is 12:39 and I am parked next to an extremely loud and obnoxious party next door. Security has chosen not to interfere. I will never ever come back here again.

You are not alone. A quick check of travel review websites shows there are a lot of other rvers who agree with you.

Yeah. Depending on the site and if you call them they might can get you in one site for a couple nights and another site for a couple more if you don't mind moving. I know that a few sites emptied today and no one came in yet.

The folks at OL are taking active measures to deal with the crowds that are prevalent during the summer months. OL security employs 45 folks in season. They're presence is more noticeable than ever. We are in site I-31 and I can tell you that at 11pm the golf cart parade has stopped. The security folks are out in force and the cg is quiet.
I like many others have camped all over MB... I'll continue to spend my hard earned dollars at Ocean Lakes.

Yep. We were out there too and yes it crazy as usual. I counted I think 5 or 6 security personnel on the main stretch and 1 Horry County Police. The line was stretched from end to end of the boulevard. I saw a couple of the security people have carts pulled over and calling in the decal numbers. Yes they were teenagers driving not sure of driving age or not as its hard to tell nowadays. But they were doing their job.

Hh18. I think. Lol. It was loud until 11pm but with AC running really did not hear a lot. After 11 all I could hear (when Ac to running) was the waves breaking.

If it's now a big deal about under age kids driving the carts at the cg and law enforcement is actually patrolling the cg and catching them; that's something I'd like to see.

I'm just glad we don't all like the same place and that there are lots of different places for each of us to pick as our favorite.
