My wife and I will be on the road to the Hill Country via Hiway 10 from Houston, Texas..... we want to stay overnight at a campground in or near Seguin.... close to Hiway 10 and/or Hiway 46.... will be driving a Class A Motorhome pulling a 2013 Jeep Sahara.... would like to stay overnight and be back on the road (Hiway 46) early the next morning.... has anyone stayed in a nice, clean park in this area? Please advise.

Thank you,

^^^Yeah I was thinking break time, stretch your legs, get a custom made sandwich, shop for Texas stuff, and use their spotless restrooms.

Totally irrelevant but, I've found that Buc-ee's at Luling is in just about the perfect place for a break when driving from Houston.

Just a note thanking everyone who posted relative our trip through Seguin..... we have decided to go on I-10 to Seguin and then catch I-36 around San Antonio and connect with I-10 again on the North side of San Antonio.... we have also decided to leave Houston a little earlier and find a RV park around New Braunfels or Boerne.... this trip is going to be slow and enjoyable.... my wife likes the visit the shops in Boerne so I'm sure we will leave a little money there.... thanks again.

As One Strange Texan has suggested, take 46 from Sequin to New Braunfels. There is a RV park at IH35 and 46... Jellystone I believe. leave the park on 46 to Boerne 46 miles then pick up IH10.

As one who passes through San Antonio quite often in a DP towing a car, I can share my experience. One of the most congested roadways in the SA area is 1604 between 281 N and I 10 W. I have found that staying on I 10 is both shorter and quicker, especially in heavy traffic times.

To get to the Hill Country via San Antonio, loop around the city to the north by taking TX1604 Anderson Loop. It is 4 lane divided for a short stretch then freeway and may not be totally free of traffic, but much less congested plus you must make a couple of freeway changes just to stay on I10 through downtown.
Better yet, take TX46 at Seguin through New Braunfels to reconnect at I10 at Bourne. If you consult a map, notice that I10 goes pretty far south to go through San Antonio and then goes almost due north before returning to a westerly trek around Kerrville.

IMO, heading west from Seguin on I-10 early in the morning will put you in heavy traffic in San Antonio. Recommend a 9AM start for a more pleasant drive thru SA. Have a great trip.
