WE would like to find an rv park around Christus St Frances Cabrini Hosp in Alex. La. We will like to find one near the hospital as possible. Our daughter is having triplets around May 2013. We will be there a few weeks. Anyone know of an rv park close by. Thanks

This isn't helpful since you will have already visited, but the old Cowboy Town on I-49 off airbase road exit near Boyce, La is due to be turned into an RV park. This was mentioned by Rod Noles, a local realtor on his morning talk show this month. I have no details regarding when, but apparently construction has begun? I don't travel around that area, so I have no way to check on it...

And belated congratulations on the triplets!

Paragon Casino in Marksville is about 35 or 40 minutes away. Very nice park with FHU, cable TV, etc. Very reasonable prices also. May be a little too far for you to drive back & forth.

Here's another thought (sorry, haven't thought about Alec in a while): Indian Creek Recreation Area. Also south of town on 165, about 8 miles south of Cabrini. Beautiful park (think: state park), lakefront sites, but I think it's first come, first served. If you arrive on a weekday (especially Monday through Wednesday) you should have no problem getting a space.

Correction; I see now that you're going to Cabrini. We stayed at rapides regional so that's no help to you.

Our son was born in the women's hospital in Alex, back in 1997. At that time, there were two spaces with hook ups in the parking lot in front of the hospital. Long time ago, but you might check and see. We enjoyed having the motorhome there!

There's also a place south of town on 165, toward Woodworth, was called "Fishin' Heaven". We stayed there about five years ago. Looked a little scary but was fine for a night and might be fine for you too. Lots of full-timers, etc. but there was a manager on site and we felt completely safe.

Congrats to all of you!

Triplets???Yikes. Congratulations.

Try the Rapides Parish Coliseum. 318-442-9581 Don't know any details other than it is a 176 space park. Marksville is 31 miles away and has Paragon Casino with 185 spaces and full hookups. Passport American for your entire stay.

The only thing I have found online in Alexandria is the Alexandria Best Western has 3 rv sites behind the hotel. You could try contacting them.
