Salmon Idaho campgrounds

Does anybody have a reccomendation for a campground in or near Salmon Idaho?

I was thinking of Heald's Haven South of Salmon but they do not takes pets. I have stayed at Century II a couple of years ago but was not impressed.

Wagonhammer might work but it is 18 miles North of town.

Wagonhammer seems overrated to us. We spent a few nights there last summer. They were pleasant enough to us, and even held the shadiest spot for us. I think they are fine if you don't mind sites close together with no shade, enjoy their "happy hour" with other campers (no real amenities, just a gathering in the evening), and especially if you are regulars. We probably won't go back. Not a lot of good choices in/around Salmon, IMO. Sorry to hear about the "no pets" at Heald's Haven - we had thought of using them if we return, but can't with that stipulation.

We stayed at Wagonhammer once and left a day early. Owners were very unfriendly and broke their own CG rules by driving a bunch of their friends around the CG FAST and LOUD in ATVs. I now hear that it is for sale, which often means it has been neglected.
