We have never had the opportunity to travel the southeast. We will get the opportunity in 2018. We will be on the coast of Louisiana on May 1st. We are looking for where to play for the summer. Plan to winter in Florida.

Where do we go to chase decent weather in the Southeast. looking for interesting things to see and do.

Help an Arizona boy out.

Not sure why this was moved to "SNOWBIRDS". The gist of the question is where to go in the southeast for the summer. Not sure snowbirds will be the best group to ask.

A lot of people winter at Salt Springs in central FL. It is a USFS park and there are several other springs in that area. The further south and the closer to any beach, you go the higher the prices will be in private parks and the harder to get reservations. The area east of Ocala is packed with private parks (in the NF)

The Sarasota area has a lot of museums and other attractions plus fantastic beaches.

Florida will be warmer than most of the country in the winter especially, the further south you go the warmer it gets of course. I'd check the Florida Park website for info on springs in North Florida: Manatee, Rainbow, Homosassa, Fanning and there are a number of others are all good spots to spend a few days. Most have CG but book them early for winter, they fill up.

Best beaches: west coast Sarasota/Branford and south to Ft Myers are all great. The panhandle has excellent beaches some are multiple winners of the 'best in the country". East Coast: Jacksonville south to Miami. And of course the Keys.

Thanks agesilaus, good info on Florida. It will be helpful. We're also hoping to get some info on where to play during the summer in the Southeast prior to going to Florida for the winter.
