Would like to stay here (camp) for 3 or 4 weeks and do a lot of fishing. We have a 16' carolina skiff is that going to be to small for fishing in the bay? Out of the two camp grounds in the park is one better then the other any information you have or pictures would be great.

Well since you are going to be in a truck camper either loop will be fine but you will find a great deal more privacy in the Shady pines loop.

For any others out there I stayed in the Shady Pines loop with my 40 DP and yes the roads are tight, like most state parks, but nothing that cannot be managed and parking was a non-issue. We road through the other loop and decided it had very little privacy and the sites were very sandy and many appeared un-level.

All in all we will go back to St. Joe, beautiful beach and very quite.

Looking at the pictures it looks like a place that would be neat to spend a month (December). Is the fishing any good that time of the year? We will be camping in our Bigfoot truck camper.

Your boat is fine. We take our 1992 - 13 Boston Whaler there during scallop season no issues. Boat launch is great, water is beautiful on the bay and the gulf is 100 feet over the dunes. This is the best time of year for camping, no black flies. Try Joe Mamas pizza in Port St Joe (across the bay)...best you'll find for several hundreds of miles around!

you want to stay in gulf breeze unless your RV is a popup or very small TT. The other campground, Pine whatever, is extremely difficult to navigate with anything over maybe 15 feet. I have camped there in an ALiner and found getting into the sites was a challenge because of all the trees. You might could get something bigger in the few sites on either side of the entrance, but you may end up having to go the wrong way on the road to get out. Gulf breeze does not have the divisions between the sites that the other does, but is the only section you can get a larger RV into. Look at all the pictures of the various sites and you will see lot of trees.

We also have a skiff and stayed at the campground. They have a really nice non manned marina with boat slips. Your boat is the right size. Our skiff is 23'. I can't remember which site we stayed in but we really enjoyed the campground.

Pick Gulf Breeze. Your boat is not to small for the bay, will be the right size. Not sure about your rig size we liked site 32, sites 1-15 are near the front and are very large for you to keep your boat at your site.

We used to go there every year for a week and loved the place. We have since moved to the coast and have no need to travel anymore right now, we have too much fun here.
