TC allowed in Florida CGs?

Traded our 39' 5er for a 2016 truck camper. Had no intentions of returning to the south, but DW thinks she wants to get out of the cold next winter for a few months.

My question is, where to camp in FL with a TC?

I think probably TCs would not be welcomed in FL, but I could be wrong.

Just thinking.

Ed and I have camped in FL since 2004, and we've always seen plenty of TCs. We tend to camp in Good Sam or KOA's. I can't say that I've seen many that were unloaded, though, so maybe the warning about that being prohibited rings true....

I've seen truck campers here in our park in FL - Rock Crusher Canyon in Crystal River. I've also seen plenty of them in the FL state parks.

You should make a list of potential CGs in the areas you might want to go and give them a call to find out if they will accept your unit.

Condo away from the beach might be in my price bracket. Condo on the beach is out of my league.

Yes, I believe you are correct. Some 'resorts' are very sensitive to what can stay in their sites.

Our TC is new and great looking, but probably would not be allowed in many places in FL or lots of other places across this country. We traveled about 13,000 miles this summer over a three month period and were not refused from any camping sites.

I realize FL is high demand in season, thus the reason for the question.

Thank you all for your thoughts. Much pondering, yet to do.

It's more likely the campground or RV park won't let you unload the camper than let you in. If you don't mind taking side trips with the camper, not a big deal, but if you do want to make trips and they won't let you drop the camper at the site, could be.

However, a TC allows for a toad pretty easy. I set up a Suzuki Samurai and when I get to camp, I use the Zuk for putting around.

I've seen TC's in a number of Florida parks, both private and state, but be aware that most will not let you remove it from the truck and leave it on your site.

Heck, there are a bunch of Class A only parks so even your previous 5er would not be allowed. Agree most SP and county parks could care less plus those that charge less than $35/night if you have a TC.

Plenty of places away from the coasts that you could get into this winter...it's not too late. I recently stayed at Lakeland/Polk county park without advanced reservations and south of there at Hardie County lakes GG.

Very broad question and could be asked about any state ! All state and county parks you should be fine, and I would assume โ€œmostโ€ private parks ! But can you get in may be the real question ! Wintertime in Florida can be very difficult to find a RV home !
