We are planning on traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway starting at the south end. Any recommendations, suggestions for RV parks, great sites to see, etc. This trip will begin from California in May 2017.
Thanks in advance.

As much as we love the Blue ridge Parkway, (we live right near it and ride our bikes on it); You might not enjoy riding the entire length.
We made that mistake once and never again. The speed limit for most of it is 45MPH and there are some places where it is only 35.
The best part, and the most scenic is the section Between Julian Price Lake and Craggy gardens.
Make sure you make the side trip, (it is free) up to the top of MT Mitchell which is the highest mountain east of the Mississippi River.
Another good take in is Grandfather Mountain, (which costs)

If you like hiking the Tanawa trail near the viaduct is a great one.
You can do portions of it from pull offs along the Parkway or the entire way leaving from the campground at Price Lake.

Make a stop at the Mineral Museum, (free) at Spruce Pine, which is small but shows all of the minerals native to the area.
