A totally idiotic policy but not surprising given that Vermont was the first to deem that a retail establishment such as Walmart could sell groceries and pharmacy goods, but not other items such as electronics, clothing, etc. They pulled that out long before Michigan which seems to have received all the press.
The village idiot here in VA along with the one in PA which I have followed both closely, have certainly pulled draconian edicts that made no sense from their rear regions too.
The word of the times is "safe" and the new buzz term is "keeping people safe". I think most folks would rather have a job/income than a guarantee of being 100% protected in the name of safety but that's just a personal opinion. Its a lot different when the folks making the decision for those not having an income, still have their income, and that is the case across the board 100%. A couple more weeks of economic stagnation and it would of behooved you to have hoarded ammo a few weeks back, as opposed to toilet paper and cases of pork & beans.
Everyone should be appreciative of the states who have people in control with a modicum of common sense that are taking measures to get the economic ball rolling again sooner rather than later. That may end up being the saving grace for those in the states managed by morons that are apparently going to stay locked down or impose senseless policies until the cows come home, or they can guarantee 100% safety, which they can not do regardless.
